Heard about this last evening from Jelinga. So sorry Wullie. Fingers crossed there is a happy outcome. All the very best of luck in finding him.

He still hasn't been found. My wife and I were still driving around little country lanes near to where he was lost until 11p.m last night. We saw a fox , we saw a cat , we saw a badger bit we didn't see him.

I have just come back from searching for him again this morning sometimes in my car, sometimes on foot. I've asked just about everyone I've seen in that area but nobody has seen him. I've contacted the police in Livingston and in Broxburn and left his details. I 've contacted the local cat and dog home. My wife has contacted the SSPCA and the Edinburgh cat and dog home.

My daughter should be here soon to put him on Facebook as I don't know how to .

My wife isn't feeling well and neither am I , we didn't sleep much last night. I did far too much walking for far too long yesterday and that has now caught up with me.

I left a bowl of dog food in an old stable near to where he was last seen yesterday after speaking to the owner of that land. I don't know what else I can do.

Wullie

Bill,

I think strongish northerly winds are forecast for the east of Scotland.

I wonder if you built on Sgurr's idea and used some of your old pieces of clothing with urine on them and actually hung them, elevated, outside, exposed to the wind each along a line to the North of your search area? Maybe each with food and accessible by car and then check the locations every couple of hours?

Obviously, this would be just one strand of action - Just a thought really.

Cheers, Terry

Bill contact the local dog warden if he's been found by someone then I would imagine the dog warden would be favourite...As it is a legal requirement to notify them if you find a stray dog....Don't leave it for the police to contact you either, lines of communication are often lost at shift change over...Keep ringing every so often.

Get your daughter to put him on this site as well as Facebook too http://www.doglost.co.uk

And do contact the local radio station and newspapers they are very good at getting the news out there...The more people that know he's actually lost rather than them imagining he's been abandoned the better....

The clothing items are a good idea but if by now he's moved from that area which is possible if he's as "birdy" as you say and as Rula was as a young pup, may not help now...

Wendy.

Apart from postering the whole area with his pic and your contact details, ringing Police, getting him on dog lost I would also ring Police in neighbouring areas and neighbouring dog wardens too as they may not communicate with each other regularly.

Then I would go sit where he was last with you, take Billy, and have several Hamlet moments cos he'll recognise that and come in.

And bugger the politics, I'd also notify the RSPCA, they're often first port of call for many people who find a stray.
