I was at a horse trails the other weekend and sat next to a lady who had a gorgeous gsp six month old pup and as I do, I start chatting to her about is she going to work her etc. Yes, hubby is going to and sending dog to kennels to get trained etc. She then started moaning about the amount of energy this little lady has and telling me that only yesterday her hubby took the dog for a 10 mile run in the morning and she did a six mile walk that afternoon and she still 'needed' another night time stroll. :brickwall:

And, I'm still feeling guilty for not putting her straight on too much exercise for that type of dog at that age. :cry:

I was beating on a local shoot and we drove to a gateway and got out with our dogs and sticks and one walking gun, next thing we know the police had been called as someone working in a office opposite had called them to say we were poaching!

More about curly coats .... in vet's wating room (awaiting Lepto booster)

Man : Is that coat natural?
Me : Do you mean the colour or the texture?
Man : No, I mean are those curls natural?
Me (laughing slightly mockingly) : Why, did you think she'd had a perm?
Man : Well, it could have, you never know with those show dogs do you?

Hi,

This thread had me weeping with laughter! I have had the following;

They are rescue, so won't ever be any good as gun dogs.
Slip leads break dogs necks. (Said by my first gun dog trainer. We lasted 35 minutes before going home)
I can hear that whistle, I thought they were meant to be silent?
Which one of the pair is the dummy?
Are they brother and sister ( both are castrated black Labs!)
And finally;
If they are going to be gun dogs, why didn't the Dogs Trust sell them and make a profit?

At least they're the same breed! When my cocker was a pup I got told, (not even asked!!) a worrying amount of times that my big male Springer was the mummy, despite his rather prominant tackle!
cheers,
Alice.

Its not just the general public...
Phone rings..
This is the Kennel Club. You cannot have "on" as a word for this name change application. You can have at, with, over, for or even von, but not on, sorry.
But I have "on" XXX for all the dogs I buy in.
You could, I see its on your other dogs, but you can't anymore. Its not on my list.
Can I speak to your manager please. (Put on hold for 4 minutes).
Oh you can have "on" after all, I'll do it now, goodbye!
Where do they get these people from?

I was trying for my Cockers longest back..took him to a path dropped a discrete dummy whilst he wasn't looking..no easy feat :whistle: ...then walked him about 150 yards on. sat him up..then noticed another old guy coming along the same path...ten minutes we waited for him and his old dog to make it to us ,when he pulled out our dummy from his pocket..er ye go your daft dog must have dropped it.

Isla is 'pedigree name' at Annahoj
Conker was 'Conkered the Mendips with Annahoj

(~she is in heaven now so dont mind sprawling her full pedigree name over the interwobbly! Little worried about naming names etc with Isla now, never know who is reading as I also in the last week have had a worrying amount of interest in her on a walk by the same bloke twice asking lots of needless information....)
Happiness is a cocker and a brace of pheasant!
