Why do people insist on driving in the middle lane of the motorway when there is room in the inside lane :brickwall:

Because it isnt policed - ie they dont make money from the fines!

Oh and we now have random traffic calming measures down all side roads and some main roads aka potholes - Im waiting for a report of a smart car getting stuck in one :0

Why when the signs above the motorway say "accident ahead 50" or queue ahead 50"
Do people still drive at 80 :brickwall:

SMEG

Post by greatdogsato »

I need to rant about my SMEG oven. Now 3 years old, and for the 5th time need to call out engineers to a fault. Bring me back my ancient Creda - that went on for 25 years and only once did I need a replacement part, and it was in constant use with the family being young then. I'd also like to sit down with the SMEG designers and tell them a thing or two. I wonder if they've ever used an oven for cooking in. More like just to look pretty in the kitchen I think

Now that feels better......

My Smeg Combination oven and microwave blew up (literally!) in less than 6 months from new. New pcb, new magnatron, new just about everything. If it does that out of guarantee it will be posted back to them with a nasty letter..... Its nice to cook with though...

Well, Judy, glad it's not just me. I had a major fault with it whilst it was still under guarantee, so opted for their insurance. Glad I did otherwise it would have cost me a fortune by now. When I phoned them yesterday, they said 'we only came out to you in November'. Yes I know that - but now it's something different. Have had 2 new oven thermostats, new clock, can't remember the other thing, and this time it's just died on me, except the light is staying on continually. Unfortunately the light doesn't give out enough heat to cook by. Grrr.....

remember you have 7 years ... if it fails repeatedly inside that time, call council trading standards for advice ref: small claims court. youll get your money back.

I thought SMEG was meant to be expensive and quality goods. The name always put me off (and the price of course), SMEG means something not very nice in Yorkshire so I never fancied having it written on the front of an appliance
