Yes the Blair witch, filmed by darth Vadar aka Bill was my favourite also, although my neck is a little sore due viewing it at the funny angle it was caught incuda wrote:great videos keep them coming - I especially like the one that sounded like it was filmed by Darth Vader

Re: New arrivals for training
Another day out with Radar and Rosie, with an auld eedjit fae south of the bridge.
Radar, now has the 'jist', of this hunting mallarky', and no more is he spooked by the cackle of the pheasant,or the flapping of the wings on flush!> In fact this is the trigger for 'hunt'!
He still doesn't point yet, but the more we put on him ,he will get the picture.
The camera footage today was crap!...I take the blame
..I was more intense on the dogs working, and learning from Bill than any attention on filming for you lot
Any HPR owners that don't make use of this critical time in the season,to bring a new dog on,will be on here asking allsorts of questions in a few months time and wondering why?

Re: New arrivals for training
Best of todays action was some honest hunting, and more game up his nose, but Radar is certainly getting to understand this 'game'!

Re: New arrivals for training
Too true! I have been out twice a day, every day on ground rich with game and have had the best of times and the worse of times: the worse times are when on average Flynn finds and flushes six birds but is only steady to half of themPolmaise wrote:Another day out with Radar and Rosie, with an auld eedjit fae south of the bridge.

The best times have been when he held a point for ages and waited for me to get there, give him the command and not only did one bird flush but two AND he was steady!
And just tonight walking in the dusk around an area where I know there are rabbits and this time he held his point but this time with his back leg! I had heard that they can determine different game ie front leg raised is feather, back is fur but had never witnessed it til now!
I keep training for the best of times and hope the worse times lessen!
