Having watched two clips it looks like nothing more than two dogs going for a walk.

I'm pretty sure I could go o the local rescue centre pick up a couple of pedigree unknown spaniel that would perform and possibly out perform anything I've seen there with no training at all.

Simply two dogs running ahead in straight lines, little pace heads up high and running on. Just as well you're not too worried about shooting anything. Your dogs will miss more game than they bump

I had expected to be impressed given the original posts and claims. Sadly disappointed would be an understatement.

30 dogs in 3 years to get 4. WOW! And your pointing Tue finger at trials for ruining spaniels? Get rid of pups at 6-7 months old. you're totally unreasonible in your expectations of any dog trial bred or not. And if these young dogs that you got rid of were genuinely no good, did you sell them to shooting people. If so you're as much to be blamed for lowering the standards of spaniels.

Great hunting dogs with no papers and no traceability.and that's not ruining spaniels!!

If these dogs were so great(and maybe some are) their owners and breeders are doing more damage to the working breed than any trial person. Hard mouth and noise how do the track it or do they care. And these hunting men are the professed guardians of the true Irish hunting Springer..........Crap(in my humble opinion)

After reading the many responses to the OPs initial post, I think I've come to an assumption and maybe a solution for him. The following is meant in a lighthearted jest, like pulling his leg over a pint, no malice is intended! We'll probably end up fighting in the imaginary pub car park but enjoy the craich!
So you want a dog that is a hunting companion, one that will run all day in the country, not bothered about shooting lots of game and natural ability is favoured over training. Pedigree and papers not important.
Answer: Go to the nearest dog rescue centre. There's 8 currently in my nearest pound, all working bred. Who knows, you might get one of the dogs you discarded in the past! You'd never know as there'd be no papers!
I await your witty responses. Cheers!
