Cocker!!!

Post by sus »

Came back from beating today to find Reg (cocker 7months) had chewed the bottom of his cage and clawed at the Lino, making a big hole in it!! Not only that he had managed to get a rug into his cage and tore it to pieces. He had been out every hour or so whilst I was out! I have had many springers (still have 5) and a lab but this one is a new experience for me - little devil. He is coming on slowly but steady (at the moment I think that is a joke) - is there a knack to making him listen and am I missing something - what a character he is xx

Some dogs are just devils  when it comes to chewing. I have a springer like that. His most recent item he managed to pull into his kennel and chew was an umbrella I had left beside it :brickwall:

One of my springers completely redesigned my kitchen. He decided he didn't like square corners on the units, and rounded them all off, including the woodclad wall - very "in" then!! :brickwall: :brickwall: Every puppy since has been caged for at least 9 months...

When my cocker was younger he reduced a pine kitchen table to sawdust ! I forgot to roll the rug up in the kitchen before I went to be last night. He'd clawed it to heck 'nesting' by the morning  And he's 12 years old now

My friend had a cocker many years ago (used to drive a Zephyr Zodiac) , for those that can remember column gears?
Went to the shops ,to get morning paper and milk, came back , and had to use a set of 'Mole Grips', as a steering wheel to get home

My 16 month old cocker chewed and ate a large section of his new heavy duty waterproof bed last week, had to take him straight to the vet and leave him there. Picked him up an hour later, they'd given him an injection and he'd vomited up 3 huge piles of sick full of dog bed and various other things. Cost £85.11 + £40 for the bed. This dog is keeping me poor!
