I have a blog about Louie's raw feeding - not sure I'm allowed to post it though. But if anyone fancies a read I can PM you the link

How many feed raw?
I'm just curious as I switched over recently (Oct '11) and I find the changes in my dogs fascinating. So really my question is - how many of you feed raw and what do you feed?

We have been feeding raw for the last eight years, I feed everything I can lay my hands on, with the exception of Potatoes and Onions.

Re: How many feed raw?
we've been feeding BARF for about 2-2.5 years now after having a few health problems with our dogs, but we're always learning.
Too many Springers, and Roxie the black cocker.

Re: How many feed raw?
No doubt both the dogs and I would enjoy meals specially prepared from fresh ingredients, but that doesn't fit in with my lifestyle. However, we all enjoy excellent health and have lovely shiny coats and teeth.

Re: How many feed raw?
Raw 5 days a week for 5years. Mince and veg am, bones pm. meat includes beef, lamb, rabbit, chicken, fish and offal. Bones mostly chicken carcass and venison carcass but also lamb, beef and pork/boar.
Kibble twice a week so they'll eat it when kenneled away, travelling etc.
They are healthy, but then Q was healthy on kibble for 4years. I don't brush teeth often now though and I used to and his ag's don't get full.
At the end of he day I think you can fed good prepared diets and good raw ones....or crap prepared diets and yes...crap raw ones!

Re: How many feed raw?
we have recently moved over to a raw food diet for 22 dogs. There have been a few teething problems - getting the quantity right is a learning curve. It does take more time to organise than a dry food but I believe it's time well spent. So far so good, early days though.

22 dogs ..................... sourcing all that grub requires more than a friendly butcher.................what do you have a walk in freezer?hawshill wrote:we have recently moved over to a raw food diet for 22 dogs. Re: How many feed raw?
Have fed raw to six dogs of different breeds over 15 years. Fruit/veg mix in am and bones with sometimes fsh or offal pm.
Like Vicky I feed kibble (only about once per fortnight though) Wouldn't do anything else. Health, teeth and coats all brilliant

Re: How many feed raw?
I have fed raw for nearly 11 years.
I feed anything and everything I can get my hands on bar:
onions
avocados
grapes
raw potatoes
grains
and the only dairy they get is live yoghurt and eggs.
