Ladies Waterproof Trousers
I am out picking up/ beating/ training most days and I have to wear waxed chaps or waterproof overtrousers in order to stay dry.
I have looked at some of the ladies water proof trousers available but they all seem to be way too long for my short legs and cannot be taken up due to the different array of ankle designs of press studs etc.
On real wet days I put on Musto overtrousers which are very good, but I feel so bulky with the extra layer and then have all the problems of removing boots to put them on etc if it starts to rain hard when I am out.
On other days I wear waxed chaps which soon look scruffy after a bit of wear.
Men seem to have such a choice if trousers that are waterproof, not bulky and look good.
There are many very smart ladies tweed outfits out there, which is all very well standing on a peg but when out picking up with a bunch of cockers jumping up at you with wet and blood covered birds they are just not practical.
Does anyone know of any ladies waterproof trousers (not overtrousers) that I might be able to try?

Re: Ladies Waterproof Trousers
I have had a pair of Sherwod Forest ladies Gadwall trousers for over three years and I love them, they have stopped making them now and replaced them with the Kennsington.

I wear them over my boots and they will go over my wellies without a problem.
They go in the washer with Nikwax and have remained waterproof.
I'm not tall, 5ft 2 if that's any help?

Have a look at the Rivers West Ladies Trousers (I think they are called Lynx). They are made of 100% waterproof fleece material, which is guaranteed for 10 years and supposed to be bramble proof etc too. There is a matching jacket and gilet also.

I have a pair of treggings from Duck Dri which go over trousers and Wellington boots. They make them to the length you require. Brilliant.

Ohh, I am so glad I saw this thread. Breezybrook I have exactly the same problem and have been looking for years for a pair of the tough waterproof trousers that all the guys wear that are short enough for me - I am only 5'. So far I have found nothing. Thanks Rascal for the link - those definitely look worth a try. I have never bought anything of that make. Do you know what their sizing is like - i.e. order a bit bigger or smaller than your usual size? Cheers.
Re: Ladies Waterproof Trousers
They are true to size I found and they are cheaper here.....http://www.outofthecity.co.uk/sherwood- ... -5342.html so worth googling around..
What a shame the Game Fair is cancelled..... Sooooo much easier to try on....

Also, try the Seeland or Deerhunter children's range. If you are small/short you will probably fit into the Age 14 ones.

I have the Sherwood Forest trousers and jacket, shown in the link in the above thread. I love them! They are waterproof and windproof and the jacket has so many pockets I am still finding new ones. I bought mine through an e bay shop. At a very reasonable price.

Re: Ladies Waterproof Trousers
I think those Sherwood Forest trousers are certainly on my pre-season shopping list now - thanks folks! Nette - I wear craghoppers quite a lot when out training in the summer and get on with them really well. I also have a pair of their winter lined trousers which as you say, come in short arse sizes! The only problem (aside from not being waterproof), being they haven't stood up very well to trudging through thickish cover, as I have worn them picking up on the not 'quite so posh days', so I find myself putting over trousers on even if the weather is fine, and I hate wearing over trousers, hence trying to find some properly waterproof trousers (which hopefully from the above recommendations might now be solved!)
