Gundog Training Forum

I have an 18 month old springer. His training has been a bit stop start, he has had issues with his attention. After going back to basics I now want to reintroduce him to and get him steady to fur. I am fortunate that I have a 1 acre pen stocked with wild rbits. I am interested in opinions on the best way to start. I know some people start working another dog whilst the pupil is on a lead others use a check lead and some just go for it.

He is steady to thrown dummies, fur covered balls etc I know he will chase live game if he has chance.

How do other people start with this?
