I said in another thread I would up a video of my pup hunting that i was going to take tonight but it was pi$$ing down so heres a clip I took from a couple of weeks ago
Considering at that age a dog doesn't really know a lot about game he looks fine! At least his nose is to the floor and he is Keen! Smart little pup slowly slowly catch a monkey they old boys say.

I don't know much about spaniels, but although this dog was hunting at just over a walking pace, at least he was hunting, a lot appear to be running around like 'blue aris flies" just for the sake of running. I guess that once this dog is on game he will speed up considerably.
Just checked is d.o.b he was just under 9.5 months when I took that video not that it should make any difference really lol
He has seen game in a controlled environment and its far more than walking pace then .....
The pups just checking out every bit of ground, if there's no game there whats the panic, by the look of it it's got a nice busy action, I'd imagine by looking at it it will have plenty style when it hits game.
Well I think that's just lovely for 9.5 months nose down, determined little pup, having a great time. And yeah, of course searching for a tennis ball will be a fraction of the speed you'll get searching for a bunny

Well that’s the point I was trying to make with my comment - the dog knew the drill and knew no game would be involved, hence the steady approach on display.
