Dog vest

Post by jonnybluetooth »

I'll be doing some wildfowling and want to get the dog a vest that will keep out the cold . It's not the weather for one yet but I do want to give her good protection from the cold when it comes in.
I've been looking at ones online but of coarse they are all going to say they are great.( which maybe they are)
Can anyone give advise and brand to which would give the best protection from the cold and keep the heat in considering the dog will be in and out of the water and sitting for long periods of time .
Thanks.

I think all the neoprene vests are much of a muchness. Just go for a decent thickness of neoprene and a good fit.

hi

I bought a neoprene vest at a show this year for my gsp as she rips her tummy to pieces - not sure if she will wear though - but we will give it a go.

we call her Bolli bald belly :-D :-D :-D

Fit is most appropriate not brand, I have a spare for a big dog like a male chessie / big HPR etc or similar if anyone wants one cheap PM me . Don't put a dog in a vest early season it's too warm its more of a danger of overheating. A good double coated large dog like a lab don't generally need one even in the colder months
