Kennel flooring options

Hi All,
Looking for some advice, The area that I am contemplating building some "runs" has an existing floor of brick style paving, which although better than dirt, I fear would smell after a very short time. With that in mind I am currently contemplating a few options.

1, Lay a concrete slab (this could be a very costly affair as the area is about 80 meters from the road and elevated about 10 meters as we live on a very uneven block)
2, Build a "floating" floor from timber and then fit underfloor drainage and fibre glass the entire affair.
3, Look for some kind of heavy duty rubber matting that will clean up easily.

Are there other options/recommendations? Please keep in mind that I am in Australia hence our issues tend to be heat (it will be undercover though) more than rain, Also this is mainly for periods whilst I am at work and night time, I am hoping that I can encourage the dogs to toilet during morning and evening exercise rather than in their housing on a regular basis. Also if you are recomending something, if you could possible describe what it is rather than just the trade name for it, as it is probably not available under the same name over here. :)

Thanks in advance for your replies and help with this

My kennels and runs are built on top of this http://www.duchyfarmkennels.co.uk/produ ... .php?id=48

They've been up about a year now and it seems to be working well. The dogs are exercised morning and evening and are let out at lunchtime and are clean.

I have a finish from this lot http://kennelflooring.co.uk/ on mine which has been great - its bonded to the concrete. Something similar should be available around you but you may need to find someone who normally uses the same product in a different area (industrial or medical flooring). Don't know about its resistance to ambient high temperatures though.

what price did you pay Smudge ? and how long did it take to put down ? reason being I am in the middle of moving and was looking to convert a garage into a kennel block. The flooring and drainage are going to be the most important aspects.

cheers
