Which wellies?

Post by chrisjd2 »

Hi all,

I'm looking for some decent comfortable wellies for beating and shooting, so they need to be comfy, warm, durable and preferably not costing the earth.

I've been looking about and aigles and muck boots are taking my fancy, muck boots mainly cause of price
Any ideas? :)

I go through wellies like it is going out of fashion, the only ones that don't give up on me after a few months are the muckboots.

They do keep your feet incredibly warm though, something to consider! I have super long legs so I buy the tall riding style.

A friend of mine got given a pair of muckboots for Xmas and they ripped the first time they walked the dog outside in a grassy field and muckboots have been so difficult to contact and get replaced!

Yup! I have a pair of Aigles that have lasted me ages ... But only because they are so damned uncomfortable I only wear them if there is no option! :-D Much prefer Le Chameau, have had Hunters, Barbours, Le C and Aigle, not found much difference between them as to longevity, comfort varies between boots never mind makes. I don't think you can compare boots as people walk differently, weight more or less and walk on different types of ground all of which factors influence the length of time the boots last.
In life, it is important to know when to stop arguing with people and simply let them be wrong.

Aigles always and forever! I love them, and I have ridiculous knackered ankles which no other wellies are supportive enough for. Wore my mate's muckboots once and they felt dead weird due to the clingy elasticated leg bit, a bit too insulating for me!
cheers,
Alice.

I also wreck expensive wellies so now I buy cheap £10 Dunlop's off eBay and neoprene wellie socks at the same price
