Sarah Clegg, google her. Fantastic painting from a photo, couldn't recommend her highly enough and not ridiculous money.

Found her on Facebook, she is certainly good! I fell in love with a Springer, just the drawing folks, don't go get ideas about me having a proper dog. :naughty:

Paintings and drawings are very much a question of personal taste, a style one person likes will be something others hate so have a look around to see what you like.

I agree with Judy, it really depends upon what style/artist you prefer. For me, some produce work that is so photogenic that you might as well go to a good photographer. You can have portrait or action & a good photographer will show you prints that will make your dog look like a champion. You can even have it mounted on textured paper or digitally 'artified'. Just a thought.

I had a friend who was a talented artist & was often asked to paint somebody's favourite hunter or gundog & the problem for both sides is that what the artist sees in your dog isn't necessarily what you see in it, & some were quite outspoken on this, which can lead to frustration on both sides. So choose an artist whose style you really love & then be happy with their representation of your dog.

We've used Sarah Bowman several times : based just outside of Banbury. This is her website http://www.sarahbowmananimalportraits.co.uk/ The black lab at the top of the page on left is my husband's lab Ash and if you scroll down the lemon roan cocker is Bliss. She's also down my clumber. Between £375 and £400. Brought I tear to my eye when I saw the painting of Bliss it is like a photograph.
Owned by 4 working cockers, 1 lab and 1 working clumber .......................!!!
