That special litter

Post by Hepe »

I just saw on facebook one of those litters which is a must have. How do you deal with cravings like that if it's not quite the time to commit to a special pup as that? Not to mention being allowed to buy one of them. My thinking is to keep an eye on the outcome and possibly later get a pup from the best of the best? Or do you just give in and beg shamelessly to have one, committing yourself despite all?

And if you wonder, the litter making my mouth water this time is FTCH MoelFamau Griffon X FTCH Maesydderwen Saucy.

Not the voice of sanity i hoped for but then again, you are after all a cocker person so to expext sanity is a bit too much. :-D Oh well, very much doubt there would be one for me from this litter anyhow.

You should know you won't get sanity here

But I know how you feel if that helps... have seen some exceptional litters... including one out a champion bitch (Lab) for reasonable money... but when I sit down and evaluate it I just couldn't find the time.

So I guess head must rule heart...

My dream litter of labs was born a few months back and it was a real struggle not to contact the breeder....but we're trying to buy a house and now is reeeeeally not the time to get a pup. But...the sire was Copperbirch Paddy and the dam's sire was the same as my Murphy's, which really tugged at my heartstrings. It's the exact blend I'd been thinking of! But never expected to see. The ONLY thing that stopped me getting in touch was timing....sigh.....

So....if now is REALLY not the time and getting a puppy would be an absolute disaster, then keep your sensible head on. Otherwise, bloody well go for it!!

Do you need (are ready for) a new pup on your team? If not, forget it. There'll be plenty 'must have' litters on the go when you are ready for them. After all, they're only gundogs - how many do you need?

Go on you know you want to!

If I thought there was room on the list for a bitch I would be on the phone to Al or Daz

But at a guess these litter belters will have been snapped up incredibly quickly

They will be dream come true type stuff.....

I won't even try this time for several reasons but it huuuurts. And yep i think the queue probably is very long and i'd be way far back. Thank you for your views, i was mostly just moaning knowing it's not the time for another pup.

Never mind, you could have bought one, been over-dogged and maybe not got the dog of your dreams anyway, there's no guarantees when it comes to pups. Or anything much else for that matter!
