Mitsubishi warrior any good?

Post by Jelly »

I'm thinking about getting a warrior around the 05 plate has anyone had any dealings with them whats the running costs etc .I like the idea of the dogs out of the way in the back bit also just wondering are the dogs ok in the back bit if it turns abit warm don't want them to over heat or be uncomfortable. .

Ive had one (55) for 8 years, very pleased with it does about 30mpg. Look for a hardtop with side and front opening windows and heat isn't a problem. Running costs are no different to previous Discos.

I've had mine 4years ish . I get about 300 miles to a tank but my driving is about 60% country lanes . The side windows open in the back of mine and the dogs are fine all the time we are moving but in hot weather I open the tailgate when we are stopped to ensure they are comfortable . I've had no issues I regards to upkeep but it's getting a bit scabby underneath ( cow sh#t is very bad for metal and there is loads on the roads I drive on ) . It will depend a lot on the mileage and what it's been used for !
Hope that helps

my sister in law has had one for about 5 yrs and its pretty indestructible. It's quite thirsty on longer journeys but no more so than any other truck. It's comfier than some others I've been in!
cheers,
Alice.

hi

brilliant truck - put stable matting in the back so the dogs don't slip - also left a flap so that when the tailgate goes down it stops any paw injuries.

only problem is the turning circle not so good

with summo tyres goes anywhere - I pulled a hilux out twice last year.

If you can get an early 'new shape' 06 model with the euro 4 compliant engine then tax is only £120 per year ;-)
I've got the basic 4work without any frills and I find it easier and more comfortable to drive than most cars I've had.

Crankshafts prone to snapping like a carrot about £3000 plus to sort.

I've had my 06 plate 2 years now, it's the automatic animal. Road tax is cheap and the only problem I have had is I broke a back spring towing a digger on a trailer, but of course, you need to change them both.
