Does anyone use silicone spray on their wellington boots and also for keeping the boot zip in good condition?
Can you recommend a silicone spray?
Regards.

not that i know of? Would be interested to see if anyone uses silicone spray.
In terms of the zips, i have heard that rubbing a bit of good old candle wax loosens zips and keeps them zipping!

I believe the stuff that comes with chams is a specific for wellies ! Aigle do a spray which is probably similar .

Bees wax for zips.
Used the stuff on my drysuit zip back in my pre-wife and children days. Readily available and one small match box-sized bar should last for years.

Thanks, I have seen a silicone spray on Halfords which is used for rubber trim and seals around cars to keep them supple.should be okay for zips.
Regards.

I think the Aigle stuff is just to keep the rubber supple. Having ruined my last pair of (a different expensive brand) wellies because the rubber dried and cracked, I now take care of my new Aigles with their special spray.
It's a bit like spraying Pledge on your boots and makes me feel like a bit of a dandy - especially when you go out in them the next day and they look like new from the box - which somehow seems to defeat the object of owning wellies! I've only had them for a year - so I've no idea if it's making a difference or just making me feel a bit daft...

I have been using silicon spray on my rubber boots for years.
I feel that it does help to prevent , or slow down, the degration of the rubber, and certainly helps the working of the zips.
No specific make/brand of spray.
Steve.

I just run the feather duster over mine every couple of weeks
(Sorry, couldn't resist - and they are made [by kiln] in the UK...)
