I am making some progress with my 19 month old Goldie in competition with the environment. I need some expert help please.
She is fast (can reach the horizon in no time at all) but I have not been able to make training exciting/interesting enough to get her to really focus and love training. I use food rewards, have tried rewarding with a toy but keeping her attention in the great outdoors is quite another matter. I know I will get "ribbed" but "in the garden" she responds to and understands basic commands. I know there is a good dog in there but I don't seem to have the skill to bring it on. If I am honest, my fear of her getting lost or hurt when she takes off is putting a brake on our progress and depleting my cosnfidence. Effectively now she is now working me!
SYMPATHETIC GOLDIE TRAINER REQUIRED!
