Beating

Post by stiffsteve »

I was out beating with my two hooligans on Monday.

Standing in the wood, waiting to move off, I noticed Roe deer heading my way.

Three went by, at about 70 yards, followed by a soiliary Doe, at 40 yards, or so.

My dogs had sussed them, but not seen them. That is, until a buck came within 20 yards of me.

I had my camera, and decided that the dogs were more worthy of a picture than the deer. :-D

I was delighted that they decided to watch the deer instead of me.

When my cocker spots a deer he acts a bit like a pointer, then looks at me as if to say
YOUR NOT SENDING ME AFTER THAT THING ARE YA ?
