Treatment for Kennel Run

Post by Beno1978 »

Hi all
I am new to here and about to get my first gundog in about 13 years (a cocker this time, previously springers and a forced break due work!) and am in the process of setting up my kennels in advance of her arrival!
As with my previous dogs, I'm expecting her (and others when I get more) to go to the toilet from time to time in their run. From previous experience I recall smells from urine, despite washing, due to it probably soaking into the concrete. Does anyone recommend a treatment for their concrete runs that is safe and stops liquid soaking in? I'm think that if the run can cleaned and mopped bone dry every time, then I won't have a smell problem!
Any advice much appreciated!

Don't know about concrete treatments that will last but I wash the run out with dilute Jeyes fluid.

There's a post in general called concrete kennel floor from August 2014. Plenty answers there for you...

In life, it is important to know when to stop arguing with people and simply let them be wrong.

This is what my friend uses for her boarding kennels. I've used it in my stables too and it is good stuff.
