I see our friendly forum vet just won in the ESS Gundog category!! Well done indeed.

Wondering how it works as I know nowt about dog shows. It's taken me 4 years to just about understand the trialling system- slow I know!

Is there a category for working cockers? Remember something about you can't show docked dogs. Anyone with the knowledge able to explain?

I think there was a cut off date (pun intended) for showing docked dogs I know my oldest Cocker could be shown but the younger ones were docked after the idiot rules were brought out so can't be shown anywhere the public has to pay admittance. Quincey is, I think older than Maggie so still entitled to enter shows. Yes you can enter working Cockers in the working gun dog classes at Crufts provided they are either undocked or old. You could also enter them in the main classes but you wouldn't get anywhere cos they don't look like show dogs.

I'd love to enter a working bred dog in the main ring, just for giggles.
Well done Vicky
