Positive Punishment!

Post by Judy »

I now have proof that perfectly timed positive punishment works! The place was crawling with rabbits this afternoon and one particularly bold (stupid?) bunny was sitting out in the open until we were within a few yards, I watched one of my dogs go into stalk mode, was about to say something when she stopped dead and turned to look at me, oh the power of thought transference! Nope, she had a thorn in her paw. She didn't look at another bunny the rest of the walk.

I do not know what he is talking about either.
You got a good result with happen stance.
One is happen stance
Two is co-incidence
Three is enemy action

I know, I litter the paths with thorns, just in case they see a rabbit up close.

I can see how e-collars work now but my dogs are soooo well trained they normally totally ignore the rabbits - they know they can't catch them! I just have to say the dog's name and they go into that "sideways look and casually whistling" mode we all know so well.

Where are you, Cynic, we're all waiting with bated breath for an explanation!
