Was a bloody hot day but thought I would put a quick vid together of the pups progress.
9 months old now, running through the basics.

Open to criticism but be careful as the video was for the daughters school project ;)

I don't know much about Cockers, but I thought he looked good, he hunted as if he was actually hunting and not just running for the sake of it. Good marker as well.

Handsome little devil, ain't he?

He seems well on for his age- he's stopping very nicely to your thrown dummies and marks better than my 2 year old!

As you say, you could do with a bit more eye contact when he delivers. What's he staring out at? He does it when he's sat with no retrieve at the beginning too? His hunting is nice but I feel it could be a tiny touch tighter, he's running just a little wide for a youngster as he is at times. I'd try to hold him a little closer if poss, maybe plant some balls to get him really going for it.
cheers,
Alice.

Hi Alice,
Thanks for the comments.
Left and right direction commands he tends to stare on for the 2nd dummy although he doesn't get it  unless I lead him back to the start point.
I've identified the delivery issue so am now working on it. I've never grabbed the dummy off him too quickly and do tend to crouch down to give him some fuss so lots to work on there.
Hunting pattern is wide and far but this specific video was shot on ground where rabbits were so I let him nudge forward a bit (will be working on that in time)
He's turning out to be a lovely little lad but I like the little bits you have to tweak
There was also a shot where I've been doing some permanent blinds.
Just got to be careful not to push him on too quickly but it's hard sometimes ;) Thanks again, Steve.
