Post by dean123 »

Hi hope someone can help me, when sending the KC registration forms in by post, can I put Just the sires name and registration number, or do I need a signature of the sires owner as well? Thanks dean

If done the 'old' paper way then whenever you mate your bitch the stud dog owner will then provide you with the filled in form which has to have the stud dog owners name, address, contact details, the stud dog's KC name & registration (or stud book) number, date of mating plus it HAS to be signed by the studdog owner.

Regardless, of done online or via paper, the stud dog owner will always get a litter confirmation registration through whenever a bitch owner register a litter. The stud dog owner can then object if he/she doesn't believe that the litter in question is sired by their dog.

If you are the breeder of the litter then you can either do a paper registration (requires signature of sire's owner as well as sire details) or do it online - for online the KC say you should also have the paper registration form signed by the sire's owner. But if you do it online, the KC will send a confirmation letter to the sire's owner as Contender says. So if you have not got the signature on the form, just register online and let the KC send out the litter details to the stud owner.

You can do Online Litter Registration via MyKC but you must have an account first (it is free). Have you got a MyKC account? If so, then Home on the red toolbar. Look at the boxes on the right and choose Litters. When that opens, choose New Litter Registration and work your way on from there. You have to scroll down and then tick Accept for Terms & Conditions. The nex window asks for details of the dam......etc

Can you get so far?

If you get to there and then your are having issues, be sure you have entered the dam in the My Dogs section of your account. If you have done that and still got problems, either the dam is not eligible to have progeny registered (too old, already four litters registered, endorsed so progency cannot be registered etc) or there is another problem and you will need to contact the KC.
