Rear foot, outside toe soreness

My spinger cross lab was working last wednesday and thursday on two rough days. All was good. When she jumped out of the vehicle onto gravel (standard river gravel) she seemed to be lame. This was only when she was on the gravel, but she seemed fine on grass. She was rested the rest of the day, only showing lameness when on gravel. She walked a large field that evening not showing any lameness. She worked again on Saturday with no sign on lameness. She was rested on Sunday bar a couple of short walks, none of which did she show any lameness. On Sunday evening she was showing lameness inside the house and on inspecting her toe she said 'Ow.' She has been off colour since, happy to be fairly stationary and spent alot of time sleeping. I've made the decision to rest her until she improves, making an assumption she either bruised it when jumping out of the vehicle onto the gravel or that it is a simple strain which will resolve over a few days/weeks. Can any one offer any advice or similar tales and the outcomes before I make the trip to the vet. Thanks in advance.

Have you checked her nails? Sometimes a long nail can push back into the nail bed and cause sensitivity on the foot when mobile.
But consult your vet.

I agree with SP and take her to the vet if she is off colour, could be an infection?
