Looking for any information about Woody. Woody has been health tested to the KC Club scheme. He is a FTW. Have you seen him run in competitions or tests, and what did you think of him? Does anyone have info about pups sired by him. I'm thinking of using as a stud on my Buccleuch bitch. Woody is owned by Dr. Derek Summers. Any info would be appreciated.

Woodlandbank Bramble, in the Stud Book, DNA Clear PRA Cord 1, Fuco and PFK. BVA Eyetest 2019 and Gonioscopy Unaffected 2017. Not hip scored, not elbow scored, not PLA graded and not DNA tested for AMS. 47 pups from 7 litters, the first born March 2018 so probably too early to tell how pups are turning out. Most of the litters have been home bred for Verstone or Tagkai where Derek has had a connection for many years. Derek has been breeding/working dogs for about 30 years and has a good reputation. I'd just ask him about the dog's good points and weaknesses. As you have a Buccleuch bitch and Woody is bred from Buccleuch Mystic and Edwardiana Rob has been used by Dave Lisett on Buccleuch bitches, I would first of all check the Co-efficient of Inbreeding. Also, if you take a litter from your bitch with Woody I would advise you to have them litter-screened at 8 weeks for MRD as Rob, his sons Blackmagic and Ranger each have MRD Affected pups on the KC listing - there is not yet a DNA test for MRD, only the clinical results from offspring. Sorry, High On, I'd written this without realising it was you - I should have a note of you bitch's name somewhere so I can do the COI for you. If it is the Pepper x Thistle bitch then the COI is 15.8% - if not that bitch, please give me the name.

Woody was run in Scotland in the 2015/16 season and possibly the season after, I judged him in a Novice stake Jan 2016 where he was second. He's a big powerful dog, hunts hard and covers a lot of ground so doesn't looks as fast and hard going as he actually is. Bit single minded at times from memory.
