boredom !

Post by trekmoor »

This lockdown thingy is driving me up the wall ! The hospital has been doing all sorts of tests on me because of all the things already wrong inside my chest ...my heart and my breathing tubes both have problems and if you add emphysema , mycrobacterium intracellurare and probable lung cancer into the mix and then add corona virus then it really is a hellish brew.

I haven't caught the C. virus as yet and my specialist doctor was horrified when I told him that virus or not I am going to go fishing in a couple of weeks. He says it would almost certainly mean my death if I caught the C bug. He was lost for words when I replied that it would be a faster and better death than the cancer !

I have been amusing myself putting out squirrel "scare guns" in my garden ….. When a squirrel is seen within 6 inches of the "gun" the party popper pops right beside the squirrel !
Have you ever actually seen a squirrel running and shitting at the same time ??? Well I now have !

They got used to it very quickly though and only move away by a few yards now.......so I am thinking of upping my game to using mouse traps !

I ran out of nude ladies who didn't look too raunchy to paint so I decided to try to do a self portrait of my head and shoulders . It doesn't look much like me .... I'm far better looking than that !

Been trying my hand at producing head portraits using charcoal . I'm quite pleased with the results so far. I'm painting under a bit of a handicap usually because my colour vision isn't too good. I do see colour but not the same colours or as many of them as other people seem to see..... With the charcoal I only have the charcoal stick and a sheet of white paper so simple tones of grey plus some black and white seem to suit my eyesight fine.

Well I am off now to annoy my wife .... I am going to ask her when my next cup of tea will be forthcoming !

Gawd I'm bored !!! Can you tell ?

    I just read this out to the OG, at first he asked who it was then, as I got further down, he started to giggle at then end he said "Its that Scots bloke from GTF isn't it?" I apologise because he couldn't remember your name but it must be 10 years since he met you!

Yes I'm bored too, seven weeks in to staying home.. Yesterday was our first click and collect - we had a fight as to who would actually get in the car and drive to the pick up point... I won. I slept well last night after all the excitement.
In life, it is important to know when to stop arguing with people and simply let them be wrong.

Haha, first few weeks i insisted on being the only one doing any necessary journeys such as shopping at local store but it was costing a fortune so Lynn did a tesco click and collect. I eventually relented and let her go pick it up, she takes her dad with her who is 89 and lives with us, they dont get out of the car so perfectly safe, it has become there highlight of the week 🤣🤣
Muddling along in the hope that one day it starts to make sense.

well luckily for us over here in the isle of man we can from today go fishing again :-D , they also relaxed the time we can spend outdoors last week as long as we still social distance . Luckily for me we have 3 ponies we have to feed so have been able to get out around the fields with the dogs and do a bit of training with my 11 month ess …. was worried about his training as mid feb I was admitted to hospital as a emergency with a septic hip...luckily as the surgeon said another couple of days more and I may not be here now ! … he did though have a good go at finishing me off though by cutting my artery in my leg  now I have the 2 ops to take out my 5 year old replacement hip to look forward too when the operating starts up again.... as well as the fishing :-D

you need to sit down and write your life history, I for one would be interested in reading it.

I'm not bored as such, lots to sort out for my mother following the death of my step father last week. I've been staying with her and self isolating for two weeks (one week to go) BUT it has given me the chance to work with their cockerpoo, which is almost 2. It is as soft as anything, but recall is hopeless, and she makes a game of 'catch me if you can' whenever it is time for a walk. She also walks back and forth in front of my Mum when on the harness (Mum paranoid she'll slip a lead...). The dog has been allowed to boss the place, so since I've been here we have put a few basic changes in place and the dog seems remarkably happy and Mum is seeing the benefits (particularly pleased that the dog no longer takes her recently potted plants and shreds them). The bit of work I've done the dog has responded really well, great eye contact and her tail never stops. The stop whistle she picked up really quickly and her recall is improving. I won't be taking her shooting anytime soon, but it's good to be able to do a bit of training even when away from home!
