My wife has just completed a course of chemotherapy for cervical cancer and has now had the op that removes all the "girly bits." She is slowly recuperating and waiting to be called back to the hospital for a second course of chemotherapy.
Dogwise ....my son took my dogs away to live with him because neither I or my wife are physically capable of exercising them.....but......he returned Charlie after 3 weeks . Charlie ran rings around him and had the time of his life !
Charlie is a force of nature , nothing stops him but he is now, at 13 years old, almost stone deaf and is losing his vision too. 
Charlie is one of the small handful of truly great dogs I've had in my life. I have stipulated that when he dies his ashes should be scattered along with mine.The Corona virus hasn't really touched my family or anyone else I know of up this way. If either my wife or I contract it we are goners and ,to be honest, I don't think I'd mind too much if it was quick.
The grouse shoots are taking place and most of my old friends are out enjoying themselves at them............wish it was me !
On a more cheerful note my grandkids are keeping me amused. My grandson broke his arm two days ago (trying to jump from a playground swing from height and at speed ...he wanted to see if he could keep his balance on touchdown !
)My eleven years old grandaughter who is a contact combat enthusiast is raging mad about the C.virus .....it has interfered with her plans for world domination. She is already European kick boxing champion in her age grouping of 11 to 16 .....she happily takes on older and much bigger opponents but the virus shut everything down before she could go for the World Champion title . She is pretty sure she would win it as she has already beaten that girl in a non - title fight.
She is doing very well at school but doesn't have much patience with "time wasters." A career guidance bloke "interviewed" her when she wanted to be doing something else so when he asked her what she wanted to do when she eventually leaves school she replied ...." Oh, don't worry about that. I'm going to marry a very wealthy footballer and buy my mum and dad a big house !"
The poor man was struck dumb so she stood up and left him to gasp for breath and belief ! ------ That's my girl ! A lack of self confidence is not one of her problems.She had a go at a couple of beauty pageant comps. and won both of them .......folk from the fashion world now want to hire her as a model but she says posing in fancy costumes is far too boring and I don't think she fancies being a model.
She is now giving demos of kick-boxing to newcomers to the sport . Her spin kicks are a sight to see . That Van Dam bloke would be put to shame.
The grandkids are great ....wish I had more of 'em.
