Not sure where this will fit in on the forum, but I'd like to make more people aware of this wonderful alternative therapy, which works particularly well with animals of all shapes and sizes! especially dogs and horses.

I am an experienced Reiki practitioner with a great deal of time spent volunteering to heal rescue dogs. One of which was a "Staffy" who was sadly about to be put to sleep due to his dangerous nature. He was re-homed 3 times for attacking his owners. I was asked by the kennels, as a last resort, to try to get to the bottom of his issues. Reiki gives you a great deal of feedback, and I was able to help by giving him moments of calm and stability.
I visited him 5 times over a month, and he is now a far calmer dog, who has now been offered a home out in the countryside, giving him the space and freedom he needs. The kennel staff were all amazed how Reiki changed this little mans life.

Please feel free to email me for any more info, but there are Reiki practitioners nation wide. The follow txt I found online as extra info.

Animals, including wild animals, intuitively recognise and appreciate Reiki's ability to heal. They often quickly learn to seek it out on their own. Animals often respond more quickly to Reiki Healing than people do and positive results are usually seen in a relatively short period of time.

Reiki heals at all levels of an animal's being and does not cause stress discomfort or pain.

Reiki is an effective form of complementary animal healing and using it alongside veterinary treatments can accelerate the healing process, ease pain, and improve, or help to continue, the animal's quality of life.

Which animals can benefit from Animal Reiki Healing?

Healthy, ill and dying animals can all benefit from Reiki Treatment.

For healthy animals, Reiki Treatments help to maintain the state of health, enhancing peace and overall well-being.

For animals that are ill, Animal Reiki assists healing at the deepest levels and is a safe complement to conventional medicine, Chinese medicine, homeopathy, flower essences and all other forms of healing. Reiki also helps to reduce the side effects of other treatments.

For dying animals Reiki is a highly effective yet gentle way to provide comfort, pain relief, alleviate anxiety and fear and to ease the transition from this life. Reiki Healing can also provide support and help with grief for the animal's owner.

Ive had a great experiences with Reiki for people but also for my 3 year old Labrador who was dying of nasal cancer, I found a lovely Lady here who lived in the convent near me, it obvioulsy didnt cure Goose but there were days when he was going through some awful treatments that I saw the benefits. Ive also experienced it when my brother in law and myself were at a session (both sceptics), he after having his first ever session told the person doing it that he was getting vivid pictures flashing up when he was relaxing, he was asked to draw what he saw and to my amazment after being shown a reiki book he had been seeing some symbols almost identical to those in the book. This is why I seeked out reiki for my dog. dont think you can really explain all about it till you have actually experienced it yourself. :-D

Absolutly. I was attuned to Reiki a few years ago and have since helped family members, pets and others. Like you say its quite hard to explain, as different people experience different things, but this is why it is so wonderful to use with animals, as they come to you without being sceptical. Our beloved Border Collie Jess was being treated by our vet for a large stomach tumor, and I gave her nightly treatments of Reiki in her last weeks with us. Despite all the vets wonderful efforts and my Reiki nothing more could be done for her, but like your Goose, I was able to give her a much more comfortable quality of life. It can never replace the fantastic work of Vets,Doctors, or traditional medicines, however Reiki acts like a "magnifier" and boosts the power of drugs and helps the body during recovery.

P.s The symbols your brother in law was seeing would have been used by the Reiki practitioner during treatment. There are several symbols used for various reasons, although no longer secret, they are only meant to be used by Reiki 2 practitioners and above. The fact that he could visualize them shows many things, but mainly that he was very receptive to the healing.
