God my OH would love 5 mins with low life scum like that they wouldnt be able to pick up a pup again let alone think about stealing it!!! It makes me sick its so worrying when you have pups to sell.... Think i'l take mine to my home rather than sell them from my OH's least then any low life cant see the other dogs that are here.

Very sad story. It's so hard to keep up security whilst selling pups isn't it. Even if you tattoo or chip this isn't normally done until 6weeks. Letting visiots meet pups from 4 weks could leave you open to theft. I guess you just have to be suspicious- note down car registration, see some id (maybe you could say it was for kc papers?), ask for references? Hope these pups are found.

i always take a land line TN and phone to change the appointment by half an hour... just as an excuse to make contact... a day or so before the visit.
Right from the start of contact I explain I will not deal with mobiles. On one occasion I had the buyer phone me when at her mother's house, so I made an excuse and phoned them back a little while later. Not foolproof, but it helps. My OH always takes car TN, and I say my pups are tattooed and chipped even if they arn't yet, but then say I was let down by tattooist on arrival or some drivel, after we have met. I always hide my purse too, as never happy to leave it handy. Do the same if tradesmen working in the house too.

Such a shame tho, we have to be suspicious of people all the time, what a world we are now living in! Poor pups, i really hope they are reunited with the owner, but how i guess is not going to be easy.
I also think it is worth taking a picture of the people, even if you get a friend to be fiddling with a mobile and do it without them knowing, hopefully with car details, phone number and pictures you can move quickly enough to get help, that is if the police can be bothered!

yup, sad to see it happening.
i remember about 8 years ago, a litter was stolen out of a trialing mans kennel, at 4 weeks old, luckily i live in a small place, and word got out, and pups were go0t back within a day.
hope they get these ones back.

Awful. I really hope they are found alive and well. It's terrible that we do have to think about things like that happening. I hope they had distinctive markings and that the owners had photo's.

Great news they are home, makes you realise you have to be really carful with potential buyers
