I have an Acme 212. I asked about this whistle and was told it had the same tone/frequency as the 211 1/2 but it had a more constant note. I have found that to be true but the 212 needs to be blown harder to make it work. It is a louder whistle than the 211 1/2 but I prefer the 211 1/2 because I can blow it hard or soft to suit the situation.

I keep the two whistles on the same lanyard when hunting my Brittany . She works to either as the tone is the same but she often hunts 200 yards or more away from me and for that I use the 212. The 211 1/2 is the most used of the two whistles for closer hunting and for retrieving.

I have amassed a big selection of whistles over the years and I occasionally make whistles out of all sorts of materials but my preference is the 211 1/2. The training matters more than the whistle does but I am able to offer a wide selection of Magic Whistles at a very reasonable cost to any mug wanting to buy one.
