its still there - there is plenty of names on social media now, as well as made up account for people to comment from behind.

Is this the post from Scott that you are looking for, David?:David wrote:I can't even find "Visitor Post" via my phone. I can't see Julie Ashurst's post which I could see before Christmas.

I think this is the one from Julie that you mentioned too:

I am assuming that since the FB page is designated "Open" that the URLs should open up straight away without having to navigate through other posts.
Re: Credible Cockers!
I've found them now thanks. The visitors posts isn't something I've come across before so to me these threads are tucked away. Not the groups fault, just the way Facebook works, the link is so understated I must have just read over it.

Re: Credible Cockers!
As they say here "I have no dog in this fight" but follow the story as I find it fascinating and an intriguingly complex story and issue. I am especially interested with the initial split between springer's and cockers. When I was a boy my father had a wonderful gundog. I know precisely when he was born as he was exactly the same age as me so whelped in 1955. He was CKC registered ESS, I still have the pedigree in an old file somewhere believe it or not. In any cast he was exactly the same colour as my current cocker, solid liver with a white blaze on chest. I have never seen a registered springer with that little white. I wonder if he harken back to an earlier type or maybe the old lads on the forum could tell me if that was more common 60 years ago?

Incidentally, I just thought I should add he was the only one in the litter of that colour. I remember my father saying that he specifically picked that pup because of the unique look and he appeared to have an adventurous nature. He was a wonderful dog and in my Dad's old age he would say he enjoyed all his dogs but Trek was the best.

Re: Credible Cockers!
I've been told that the fashion for mainly white Springers was because Kenine Robb of Rytex - a heavily used stud - threw mainly lighter pups and people felt they were easier to see against dark vegetation such as winter bracken. Newflame in the UK started to breed what they called the old fashioned type, very dark, around 2000. I've got an old dog, five generation Rytex free, and he is not heavily marked at all, liver ears and a couple of patches. His younger half brother (Rytex breeding in there) is very dark though. I've used both of them on the same bitch (light bitch) and they both throw a mixture of light and dark pups. My personal preference is for the darker ones but what I notice most is the depth and length of coat which is much heavier in the older breeding.
Re: Credible Cockers!
There's always been a fashion for predominantly white dogs. Back in the 70s there were handlers with a preference for small white bitches because they were thought to look flashier and therefore more eye catching.

I can't believe that nobody has touch on the fact that all the dogs in question were bred by someone who is know longer with us so there's nobody to prosecute
If it was easy it wouldn't be so much fun.
