My wife originally wanted a cocker, thankfully my nagging paid off thaf time not to get one. Now we've got 5 springers and a lab :)

Ah, now I wouldn't say "Never again", but I would say "One at a time".
However, it would have to be a very special "One" and I now have a much better idea of where I might - or might not - go looking for it!
I wish I could have cloned my first one.
Happiness is where we find it, but rarely where we seek it.

I guess I am ignorant when it comes to cockers and springers, having never owned a springer I cannot compare mine to one. I think I lucked out big time with my guy, regardless of breed as he is incredibly intelligent and is an amazing animal to watch in spite of all my shortcomings as a new trainer. I think he may be one of those once in a lifetime dogs, I only hope I can do right by him.
