Sorry TPC (when I was younger it stood for Test of Professional Competence) but don't think that is the case here so still no wiser. If the bitch has passed her TPC I might just buy her so she can do my job and I can go and play all day

I don't begrudge Ftch x ftch breeding being whatever they want to charge, at the end of the day, a well bred pedigree pup from a show type breed like a ridgeback is £1,000+ and all sorts of jackadoodles etc £900. Springers, labs, cockers. I would pay £1,000 for a pup from a ftch bitch if I could afford it! These bitches are the best in the country and lots of demand. Having said that, I would want to be happy with how they are reared and socialised, it's not just the breeding, I'd want then reared like my pups, no expense spared, fed the best of the best, in the house, in the garden, socialised with other animals, children etc. I don't care what anyone says, it makes a massive difference to a dogs make up, regardless of how it's bred if it's not fed decent food regularly, kept clean so it doesn't become a messy bugger and socialised properly then I wouldn't be interested.

Absolutely! When I buy a pup its as much about the owner, they way the pups are reared and what the Dam is like as it is about which pup or its pedigree. I've learned my lesson over the years, its not all about the paper. Maybe its a woman thing?

Agree which is why usually I either want to breed them myself or know the person they are coming from or if not hear enough good things to trust their judgement

I sent all my prospective buyers an in depth questionnaire to fill out and expect the same level of grilling in return! They can also see from my Facebook page exactly what I'm doing in rearing the pups. This week the noise CDs are on!

I paid £450 for a bitch puppy 4 years ago but when I bought her the dam was 'only' a FTW and so was the sire. The year after the sire was made up and then the dam which has also consistently made it through to the last day of the IGL the last 3 years. The sire also ran at the IGL but unfortunately died only 5 years old.
So, the trick is to spot these litters/puppies BEFORE the parents are made up
I did buy a FTCH x FTCH pup 6 years ago and I paid £750 for that one. You can get some very well bred puppies and often from FTCH x FTCH or FTCH x FTW parents if you look towards Ireland - they're often cheaper perhaps because some don't class them as high as FTCH's made up in England/Scotland/Wales but if you look at some of the trialling lab pedigree's you'll see plenty of Irish based kennel names in there - it's all a merry go round and the trial lads/lasses all swap bloodlines between themselves
