OK, I will check into it...Some of the books I own German Shorthair, Hunt Close Jerome Robertson, Peter Maxon Field trails and Retrievers, Keith Erlandson Springers and Cockers and Keith's first book, Sherry Ebert vid Training Setters and Continials, The book on Brittanys, Tablot Radcliffs Spaniels for Sport, a British Game book, I liked joining the breed Association and to become a member as well as sent me info on the early hunting and training of the breed. Is there Sporting dog magazine uk...as a magazine subscriber or member of a Wildlife Conservation organizations, I had requested a few things and internet I would help the organization or association l...As a member of the organization Pheasants Forever, I donated 125.00 and with a match from every member to create new habitate using heritage seeds, grasses and forbes....this was to raise 330,000 us dallors...mike

Not really, there's the Gundog Journal which is ridiculously expensive otherwise just bits and pieces in Shooting Magazines. Hi Judy, I received Shooting Times and Country, a weekly, Gamekeeper Gundog uk, BASC quarterly, American kennel club, and usually one other magazine, from a conservative organization , be it Pheasants Forever, Ruffed Grouse society...agree with the expense, My BASC membership was perhaps 250.00 us . The British pound is worth more than the US dollar. 1.60 × 100 . It was all Air mail delivery. Mike

In a way, I followed the working cocker with the use of Paul French's films of the championships, Shooting Times and Country, Gamekeeper Gundog, and Alan Gwyeene a Field trail judge in Wales. After 8 -10 years there was improvement. The highest coefficient I had was 30% out of Kathleen...I thought David Sowbry female was impressive. I figured the breeding went back to Jordieland. Attendinding a few Championships and field trails here in the States. I met Andrew Green, a brit living here. He had Springers... for myself it was a personal gundog. I had this 4 or 5 times, Bear a GSP, Kerry a WC, and Maggie a Setter. mike

Maggie came at the right time. Kerry , a working cocker, was getting older. I got to handle, hunt, and enjoy this honest little cocker for 8 or 9 years. Just the two of us in the Upland fields and farmland. With the Setter pup now 5 months old. a walk along the woodland edge and little runabout. A fun time and introduction to farmland...note this is a grain producing farm there isn't any farm animals. In a few weeks time I will release some Chuckar partridge for us to come upon. At 6 months, I released 10 Bobwhite Quail...This was great. I had the environment the way I wanted and for certain outcomes. The Quail were ideal. Short sessions. The Pointing was beautiful. By the time she was 2 years old , she was confident, hunted with determination, and was handling the way I wanted. Hunting and handling Maggie my Setter was so nice. We were both confident, I had a good bond. Sometimes it was an impressive performance and I didn't do too bad myself. I am the only bird hunter, only petson with a gundog/bird dog in miles. I am on the farmlands I hunted for 16 years. It was good to be back. I had the real sense these lands were here for me and to develope my Setter into a above average Woodcock dog with determination and style. mike
