Please give me an example of me being 'contradictory'.

firstly, my , and am sure others, dogs aren't. "mutts", lastly you were the one who suggested different muscle types in trial dogs compared to hunting stock and wrote off the counter as a lot of "Tosh"

surley the only way to really work out if this is actualy a problem is to look at the homes a litter end up in. Some go to a trialing home where others go to be everyday working dogs. We have a lab here that works very hard all day long in some of the most testing shoots in the area, hes a big powerfull lab that hunts like a demon. If in different hands would have done fantastic in the trialing world but Claire doesn't wish to trial again. One of the brothers is a pet first and a gundog second, and another brother came 2nd at the IGL champs this year at the age of 2, so surely in this case there is clearly no split as the litter has shown that they could fill any role asked of them. Thats the breeding at its best, they should be fit for purpose, no matter what that purpose maybe.

What on earth are you going on about? I said differences in exercise intensity and length can increase or decrease differences in muscle fibre types (fast-twitch slow-twitch) I think trial dogs contain more fast-twitch fibres hence the more athletic appearance.

In any litter of trial pups some are taken by trialers others are taken by those whom wish work them on their shoots ,they both have the same physiology , no difference in muscle whatsoever.
For each FTCH there are litter brothers and sisters who don't trail but have the same genes, there is no difference between them and if you asked trialers if they saw dogs they sold and asked their honest opinion they would say some get away

If it’s bollocks why are dogs of the same litter more muscular/athletic looking then others that may have gone to more of a pet home.
Are you wanting to take this out of the forum? You wouldnt speak like this to my face.....
