I've been back out looking for him again but with no joy. This time I left a shirt I'd worn today and a pair of socks worn today at what I hope is a suitable place. I felt ridiculous but I urinated all over the shirt. I left a small heap of dog food beside the shirt and socks.

My daughter has now posted him missing on a Facebook dog finding site. She tells me other people from this area are now out looking for him.

Sorry there is still no good news. Could you ask your daughter to post on the Facebooks sites such as Pedigree Gundogs for Sale where a lot of spaniel people check frequently - ask Admin if it is OK to post. Also, if your area has a Free Ads page, then that's usually a great way of getting local support and gets the news everywhere.
You are probably at the stage now of needing to stay home so you can be there if someone needs to contact you.

Bill, I wonder if you could copy and paste a google map here with the last sighting point?

Then maybe folks who read here and live nearby might be 'guided' into likely areas, specially if you can 'manage' their activity.

I know there is no way of knowing where Edge is likely to have headed, nor that he is likely to be staying put, but maybe a methodical approach might turn up something?

I reckon that local radio would be interested in your story - maybe your daughter could contact them? In fact, there would be no better way of getting the message out to the greatest number of people.

Cheers, Terry

seconding this. Facebook is a powerful tool. If she can make contact with me on facebook (Alice Perry- blonde girl in denim shirt holding dog is my profile photo) I will share the hell out of her post.
cheers,
Alice.
