There's a million scenarios here and its up to you to analyses them and then read your dog. If he isnt interested in the ball retrieving wise, stop doing it in the field. Keep that for the kennel and extend to the back garden and build on it. Why dont you pre plant some balls (or a puppy dummy,tedd...

I was showto do 1 memory and blinds at same area.
Then another ar a diffrent angle. Then again at a diffrent area. Sometimes we would put a blind with a memory. Go n do some quatering then return and send the dog for the blind you left. Still a memory to the dog but it doesnt know the blinds there.

Hi Springfield poinrer. For quatering I sit dog up infront of me. Take 5 steps to left rub a dummy in the grass. Then do the same on the right. Judy Guys Well a few months later. Used all sorts of methods. One that a trainer showed me. Was sit the dog up. Walk away from the dog to 10metres. Stand with eye contact for 5mins go back to dog and rewardbehavior. Another 1 was sit the dog up. Throw dummies to either side and over the dogs head up...

I also train solo most of the time. So difficult to practice without other dogs

Still struggling withh his steadyness.I have been throwing out close dummies and he is still lifting his butt. Not running in on them tho.
But still the same issue when other dog runs he thinks he should.

Take him further away from the other dog before dummies are thrown, also stand in front of him, facing him if necessary, to reinforce the fact you are asking him to stay.
