Dog steadyness when other dogs retreiving

My dog has a good amount of steadyness when training solo. When another dog is doing a retrive his steadyness is gone. He thinks he should go with the other dog to retrive. He sits by my side good until the other person tells his dog to get on. Ignore my command to sit and stay. Hopefully that makes sense

Take him further away from the other dog before dummies are thrown, also stand in front of him, facing him if necessary, to reinforce the fact you are asking him to stay. Or put him on the lead and reward him for not going.

By moving from retrieving in isolation to retrieving in company you’ve made a big change in both criteria and context without doing the necessary training to help your dog adjust. As Judy said, add distance for starters and a light training tag would help. But you need to retrain in company as if you were starting steadiness training from scratch.

Still struggling withh his steadyness.I have been throwing out close dummies and he is still lifting his butt. Not running in on them tho.
But still the same issue when other dog runs he thinks he should.
