Any Northern Ireland GSP Owners out there ?

Hi, I have just started training another GSP and I would love to hear from any one in Northern Ireland who is a GSP owner / trainer who could help and guide me during my "journey" ?
I would like to be able to meet up with you periodically for any help or guidance you could give to help get things right.
My pup has just gone 5mths old and all I have been doing is socializing him and some basic obedience, recall, sit heel etc.
I have read all the books, watched all the DVDs etc but I really would appreciate someone taking a little time to help me along the way.

Welcome to the forum Colum I live in Scotland but I used to know a N.Ireland G.S.P. man called Jerry Mc Ileany (sorry, can't remember the spelling of his last name.) He lived in Derry - or Londonderry according to your "point of view!"

Jerry had some smashing dogs and was a very knowledgeable and capable trainer. I can remember feeling rather proud when he went to the trouble of buying and collecting one of my pups. I haven't seen him for many years now , wonder if some G.S.P.'s with a bit of my breeding in them is still out there terrorizing Irelands wildlife !

Wullie I know gerry he and my father were great friends IO still go up and see gerry every now and again a wee gent, and my gosh does he know dogs.

if you look on the german pointer club of ireland you will see his current dog and he is nice big lad I was shooting over it for him last year. Lovely dog very tender mouth,

Colum, you may have seen the litter brother of the bitch pup I sold Jerry on video. I made a couple HPR training videos years ago along with a friend called Ian Sayers. I can't remember now but Jerry may have that video......... the film quality was crap but the content wasn't too bad. I thought I was all set to make my fortune for sales were going well all over the world. Then the sales dried up .......the I.R.A. had pirated the video for funds ! Since I didn't have a machine gun and a few grenades handy I could do bugger all about it !
I enjoyed making those two videos , I think I was semi-sloshed half the time !
