Pressure washer's

Post by Rascal »

Can anyone recommend a good one?
Ours has just broken, thank heaven not while I was using it. :16:

We don’t seem to have much luck with these, we don’t need a mega powerful one. I use it once a week to give the kennels a good blast and occasionally on the patio.

We’ve had a Nilfisk and a Karcher and neither of them have lasted very long this one is just a month out of it’s guarantee. :brickwall:

I have a Bosch Aquatak, must be about 4 years old now, use it once or twice a week for Kennels, Car Washing, Patio etc, really nice bit of kit, set me back just over £100 I think.

I think the most common reason for demise is leaving water in the reservoir after use and then letting it freeze, it then bursts.

The problem is that in the models I have used it seems to be not possible to drain all the water out (no drain plug).

So, if it can be stored indoors this helps or search for a model with a drain facility.

Cheers, Terry

Just disconnect the hose & fire it up until it blows all the water through.
I had an expensive Kew / Alto that lasted over 10 years, a cheaper one that lasted less than a year, I've currently got a cheap Karcher that I've had for 5 years.

If its only just out of warranty it might be worth taking it back as it should not have failed so soon unless it was your fault, I have a nilfisk and it seems ok so far just remember to empty it after use.

A mate has a real pressure washer, diesel heater etc etc when we've been out on the bikes on a cold wet day it's quite good to have a wash down with as it warms you up, stings like buggery though if the lance gets a bit close.

I used to have one of these - got it second hand for £150, lasted me seven years. Broke last year and I couldn’t get parts.

So, after a bit of Googling, I got a Nilfisk C110. Loads of people rave about it. I thought it was pants. It’s resigned to sitting in the shed as a rainy day backup.

I got one from Lidl for £60. Much better than the similarly priced Nilfisk. Aldi and Lidl both give a 3yr guarantee.

The Nilfisk C11o is the one that we had thats just blown up and we hadn't left water in it after use. I've spoken to them and been told "tough" basically. I'll have a look at Lidl next time I'm in town thanks for the tip. ;)
