Re: Training Plan
I just watched the water vid, what a great introduction to water. The pups are growing so much.
Re: Training Plan
Enjoyed the video, been doing the same with the flash floods in the fields . I am always looking to use what is available to assist in training. Noticed the fantails in photos. I have a bird table near the kennel and the pup just sits watching the birds coming and going from the table. We have a couple of wood pigeons on a regular basis and they make a noise when they leave the table. All good training.

Brilliant, that helps me alot, especially what I should be expecting. Pity I have such a bad ankle I cannot move back like that but hopefully I can get a bit more steady on my feet in the next few weeks.
Re: Training Plan
Great to watch that and nice to see even with the little cocker making an appearance that she was not to bothered.

The pups are 5 1/2 months old now.
It may not suit every-ones situation, but they have never had a lead on them when they have been around the estate,or even a drive in the car and a run around at a shoot I attend.
Well,if you have the recall in place, you can always bring them back in.
Today ,was the first time ,introduction to this strange thing', that many use as a tether or restraint from doing something wrong?
.......................
I use it as a tool like a 'steering wheel' ,to show the dog where we are going, and how we should get there.
......................
These pups like all the ones here before ,are introduced to this tool in a manner that they are happy with and see it as a prelude to reward.
......................
Not all, take to it in the same way?.....

Anyhow, here is the clip how I do it. (it may not be yours?..but it has always worked for me),and let's face it,you only break a horse once ! don't you?
