Arwesa's Choice of Springer Sire !

Post by southern cockers »

Congrats to Des Donnelly on winning the Irish Spaniel Championship with Skronedale Romulus and congrats to fellow forum member Arwesa on doing his homework and having his bitch recently sent over to Romulus and a mating in the offing !
Hope all now goes to plan and a fine healthy litter ensues.

Maybe that's what helped the lad on a bit with a 'spring' in his step

lmao.... look Ive got everything crossed here that she has taken. Des has been great and Im made up for him, irrespective of the hope of pups, couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

As for choosing well, well I only know what I've learnt off others and had some good advice.

Gemma was mated Monday Wednesday and Yesterday, so obviously Bracken was in a good mood lol

On the down side I now have to re-edit the pedigree ;) but makes it 8 championship wins in first 3 gens of pedigree :)

As a handler, its impossible to make your dog perform better than it is, but very easy to make it perform far worse.

Grats Arwesa! Seems you know what to aim for, so far i managed to politely say no thanks to pups from very successful breedings this year *bonks head*. Good luck with the mating!

Good luck with the mating -- Romulus is an excelent dog and produces big powerful pups making great hunters which is what a springer should be

He does seem to pass on some of those attributes. I have a cracking bitch by him who also passes those qualities on. In two litters she has produced an OFTW, FTW and an FTAW.
Its a cracking line, and I'm very pleased with what it's given me.
