Hi all,
My name is Jack. I am a 14 year old boy living in Bournemouth. Just yesterday I went out beating for the first time. For a few months previously I have been interested in training my Labrador, Fern, to do a bit of both types of gundog; retrieving and flushing/beating. She comes from a family of gundogs (her mother was a picker-up on the shoot I was at yesterday!), and from past walks and play, its obvious that she has it in her naturally to be an outstanding gundog. I also have another Dog, Josie, who is a 5 year old Springer Spaniel. My dad house trained her, but coming from a family of award winning gundogs, she is already fairly well trained for the beating side of things. Whilst out on walks, she enjoys flushing even the smallest birds from bushes. She has been trained by past dogs we have had, however they have all now passed, meaning she's the latest Generation of our families gundogs.
I have signed up to this forum as I am sure I will hit many brick walls throughout training Fern, and am sure that the many experienced proffesionals on this site will have lots of helpful advice for me.
Thanks

Hi Jack and Fern and Josie. I am sure you and Fern are going to have a great time learning together and I look forward to hearing about your progress.
