Re: New collars.
Very smart.
Mine always have collars on now, I learned after a few altercations that it was easier to pull them apart with collars on! Luckily we haven't had one for a few years now but I still leave them on. (Not working dogs)

It's not as policed as it should be but with the changing of the laws due to dangerous dogs I can guess that it will be policed more often.surely a phone number would be sufficient

Nice collars by the way, where did you get them?
Re: New collars.
Fantastic collars, they look a proper pair of spivs!
Re: New collars.
I totally agree, I hadn't realised so much information should be on their tag. The non working dogs wear a tag with my surname and telephone number. Though you could argue my address may come up on google with the other information.AJS wrote:Sadly putting all that information on the tag, leaves one wide open to dog napping and blackmail to get the dog back IMHO.

Re: New collars.
The last time my dog was attacked the ladies retriever managed to slip completely out of his collar as she was pulling him away!AnnieM wrote:Very smart.Mine always have collars on now, I learned after a few altercations that it was easier to pull them apart with collars on! Re: New collars.
According to the Kennel Club you don't need to include your phone number or postcode on the tag, although they do recommend it, nor do you need to show your full address - you can just have eg house number and postcode. http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/379.
And a bit of advice I was given at training classes, that were run by an ex-police dog handler, was that if you're concerned about your info being on show just lob a bit of masking tape over the tag. (Not sure about whether one would still be complying with the law in that case though...)

Re: New collars.
As long as you take it off when doing KCGDCS tests then you should be OK. Mine have their vets address etc on the other side of their tag too - just incase if they get lost or run off and get injured if someone finds them they can take them to the vets and I can meet them there - thats the theory behind it anyway.Pwned wrote:According to the Kennel Club you don't need to include your phone number or postcode on the tag, although they do recommend it, nor do you need to show your full address - you can just have eg house number and postcode. http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/379.

Re: New collars.
Eric has surname, first line of the address, postcode, land line and mobile numbers on one side, and vets number and micro chipped on the reverse.

Re: New collars.
Really nice - where did you get them? I've often considered getting a nice leather collar for Keely but keep buying nylon ones so i can wash the fox crap smell out of them
I've looked at some made by saddlers but they can be rather pricey
