Me too - but not in the park - on the grass verges between our hamlet and the town. I was so fed up with the pup traipsing through the poo and broken glass to help himself to 'toys' that I got the litter pick and bag hoop on loan and collected the junk from 500m of verge which came to three full bin bags worth and a lorry prop shaft
The biggest proportion were these recyclabes:
but I also found antifreeze aerosols, screen wash gallon cartons, bits of car electrics and I collected as much of the broken glass as I could. It was lovely to go out with the dogs next day and see it all clean and fresh.
Folk moan that the Council don't do it but they haven't done it in the 7 years I have stayed here and the people that did do it for charity just stopped. Our main issue is passing motorists chucking it out of the car window, so they have a bonny car!

Perhaps dropping a line to the council suggesting the Community Payback team pop along. It worked in my case, but not often enough. Try to get the weekend team. My mate was a supervisor for community payback and found those that worked weekends tended to have jobs and we more hard working.
The KC are really upping the ante (literally!) to get e-collars banned. Personally, I oppose a ban despite never having had to use one. Used correctly and in the right hands as a last resort they are a useful tool to have in the box. Whatever your views on e-collars, there are so many more welfare issues that the KC could be addressing - issues that affect a lot more dogs than e-collars ever would. For example; breed standards that promote health issues, Caesarian births because natural delivery is impossible, fit for purpose requirements, etc.
Like the RSPCA, they seem to have jumped on the latest populist issues. KC - get your own house in order first...

Just come back from walking our two dogs in the local park. I was doing a little heel work with the spaniel and the beagle was skipping around and sniffing like normal when this little dog, I assumed JRT, starts going ballistic from the hedge. Said little dog was with a group, of what I can only describe as, the most foul mouthed bunch of primary school children I have ever met. The fact that their little dog was barking like mad was all my fault for walking with my dogs in a public space apparently. No wonder there are so many dogs with problems when they are left with children to be responsible for them Rant over
And while I'm at it, folks that drive down country lanes and stop dead because there is a car coming in the other direction. If the road is wide enough for the other car to pass you while you are stationary it's wide enough for you to pass each other whilst both cars are moving..

AMEN!! also the people with small cars who drive along the middle of country lanes as if they're a bus, and ALSO people in 4x4s (generally discos, complete with adjustable suspension...) who won't pull their car up the verge when we meet, but force me to do so in my poor non-off roading 306!

URGH!!! townie drivers on rural roads, don't get me started. School run mums blocking up home counties villages in their chelsea tractors when a pram is probably more than they can handle
There reckon I've upset enough folk for a Monday morning
