Boots

Post by leeky »

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a decent pair of boots with plenty of foot support. I've got Hunter winter wellies but find them hard and uncomfortable and playing havoc with arthritic hip  particularly when dittering around with the pups on rough ground. Thought a lighter-weight pair of hunters would be more flexible/comfy but still seem to lack support and cushioning. Have got hillwalking boots but would prefer something longer, waterproof, flexible, a bit of cushioning and a grippy sole.

How about adding a pair of gaiters and some sorbothane insoles to your walking boots? Wellies will never give you the same degree of ankle support, but the insoles will make the boots comfier underfoot while the gaiters should protect your shins from long wet grass and brambles, but not boggy ditches mind...

Irish setter boots. They're awesome.
