Re: Vehicle suggestions - twins + pushchair + labs
Good deals on new l200 at the moment, someone told me you can get 5 k off one because they are changing the shape.

If your looking around for this type of vehicle, have a look at the spec of a jeep patriot The diesel is v.w.,40m.p.g+.,you get alot of car for your money.

But you're Scottish.

In life, it is important to know when to stop arguing with people and simply let them be wrong.

then .....discovery 4 is the perfect vehicle for the OP in fact the perfect vehicle in every way then , you will get a very old one which has been to the moon and back for £15,000......wish I could afford one
must tell my mate what you get out of your disco then cos he certainly gets no where near 35mpg but then again I cant get anything like what some people claim to get out of they're 4x4 crew cab trucks, all this mpg malarky with these big 4x4s surely must be down to how they are driven rather than an across the board figure
Re: Vehicle suggestions - twins + pushchair + labs
Very much down to driven style and load.
My l200 managed 39mpg on a run from salisbury to dorking unladen with the exception of me and my overnight bag. BUT I had to do 60mph on the motorways and coast down hills to maintain this average. If i drive like i normally do with what i normally have to lug about then that mpg averages out at nearer 27mpg.

New model released this year, new engine and 8 speed box, old ones would get 25-30mpg on a run, new Range Rover gets over 40MPG

Wow - thanks for all the comments! Disco 3 (4 would be too much $$$) or truck were on my shortlist ... the other suggestions are pretty small (I currently have a Freelander 2).
The L200 is probably the ugliest of all the trucks - what about the hilux or the Isuzu? Also do you reckon I'd actually be able to fit a folded down buggy (dimensions when folded down -length 41" 104 cm, height 15 1/2" 39.5 cm, width 29 1/2" 74 cm) in the back with a standard canopy with a CAB or similar in the back?
Thanks
