Budget transit box

Post by Si Withington »

Hi

Apologies if this has been done to death, but...

I'm after a transit box for my Springer - I drive a Skoda Octavia estate. I appreciate that the likes of Lintran, TransK9 and CAB are the best way to go, but I don't have that sort of cash. I've been keeping an eye on eBay too and nothing has come up. I don't want to get a mesh 'crate'.

Can anyone recommend a more budget, yet quality supplier?

Many thanks in advance,

Si

I had a ferplast atlas 100 (i think that was what it was called anyway. That was ok for a relatively cheap £100 box

Petmate Vari Kennels are great travel boxes at a cheaper price. I used to carry medium sized cockers in the 'medium' so might do a springer as well. Ideal if you're only carrying one dog, even in the 'Large' size.

Can you wait till the weekend, I have a Lintran that might fit, it's got a small hole in one corner...

I'll measure it and put some pictures up, you can have it for fifty quid plus the cost of getting it to you if that's any use.

I lied it has a hole in each corner.....

But to be honest with it's deep lip it helps drainage when you wash it out... I'm pretty sure those holes could be patched by someone who knows what they are doing, if it ever became a problem..

It is the one I linked to but we've just worked it out and we think it's almost thirty years old now...

If it's any good to you let me know, although I'm running round like a chuck with it's head off trying to get ready to go away...I may not be able to reply for a couple of days...

I don't know at the moment how we'd get it to you, anyone ever sent one of these before and have any idea of cost or which carriage company they used?

Hi, thanks for taking the time to post these pics. I think I'll leave it - it's a bit big for my needs. Hope someone else is interested.

Cheers again,

Si
