Proper Dogs

Post by vicky payne »

I've been browsing around looking at pictures of potential future stud dogs recently and to be honest I'm disappointed by the look of some of them. There seem to be very few really masculine ESS dogs out there in trialling land. I'm hoping you can prove me wrong by giving me some really handsome studs to look at!
(And I know it's all about what they do, not how they look for serious people....but for me life is too short to work a dog which doesn't please me eye!)

I feel your pain. They say a good dog no matter what it looks like is always beautiful. That has been proved to be true time and time again... I too have a preference for a looker.

FTW Buccleuch Ranger - he's a big lump of a dog and a looker too.

Sealpin Gundogs website has his details.

FTW Buccleuch Ranger, used him earlier this year, lovely stamp of a dog, eye tested but nothing else.
OFTW Rothievale Medlar of Edgegrove, very handsome chap but then I maybe biased ;) not met anyone yet that doesn't like the look of him, fully health tested
FTCh Buccleuch Pepper, lovely looking dog and producing equally good looking pups, DNA tested
OFTW Halaze oh Boy of Woodash, nice looking chap, don't think he's health tested
OFTW Beggarbush Taff of Pantfarm not sure about health tests

Beauty however is in the eye of the beholder!

You know my feelings on FTW Blackmoss Broad Sword- he's TOTALLY your sort of dog in looks.

Ditto Bucclecuch Ranger, he is pretty much perfect to me.

Samsir Babbler's a good solid lad.

Helmsway Henry is certainly not bitchy either (He's got a Rytex Rod- my ultimate pin up in terms of looks- look about him to me)

All the Edgegroves are good, masculine lookers (though Karva's probably a little bit fine built for some tastes).
cheers,
Alice.

Helmsway Hawk of Witchwillows? I looked at using him a few years ago on a bitch I ended up not breeding from (kicking myself ever since but that's another story). Fantastic looking dog, must be a fair age now?
